Meetings, teambuildings, projects….

Ferrarotti is well suited for courses, board meetings, management meetings, project meetings or any other type of meeting. There are several available meeting rooms, the biggest can accommodate up to 12 people. We will arrange meeting facilities that fit the size of the group and have projector, canvas, flip-over and other tools available. In nice weather, it will also be possible to have the meetings outdoors - or you can use this area for breaks or gatherings.

After the session you can have pizza, pasta or tapas evenings with wine from vineyards in the region - but there are also many very good restaurants in the area serving traditional Piedmontese dishes. If you want to arrange activities for the team there are plenty of opportunities, depending on the season. Truffle hunting, wine tasting at local vineyards, food and wine festivals, jazz and rock festivals, food classes where you learn how to cook Italian food, “escape room” in Cuneo, sightseeing, skiing in the nearby mountains, cycling, picnics, climbing, mountain hiking, mountain biking…. Below you will find more information about some of the alternatives.

food classes

There is a variety of food courses where you can learn how to make Italian / Piedmontese food, from personal "at home" cooking classes focusing on local dishes, to more professional and advanced courses over several days. Cooking classes can also be combined with truffle hunting and there is (always) wine tasting included.

It is also possible to hire a chef to cook for/with the group at Ferrarotti. If this is the preferred option, we will need to know well in advance.

or home-made pizza at our place…

You can also stay the afternoon and evening at Ferrarotti for a “pizza night” where we heat the pizza oven, prepare dough and make our - or your - own pizzas. We have enough space in the kitchen for everybody to participate in the process. Afterwards, the team can gather around the table to enjoy own-made crunchy Italian pizzas. After dinner, you might want to taste a glass of local wine in the sunset. This can be a very nice and relaxing closing of the work day.

Shopping the ingredients at the local markets, which is a very nice experience, could maybe be a joint activity as well.

wine tasting and local specialities

There is an abundance of wineries that offer wine tasting and sales from their own vineyards. You can visit large and/or famous producers or smaller and less known producers who also make top quality wines. You can also focus on wines from a single grape - like Nebbiolo - or taste vines from a variety of grapes in the region - Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, Moscato, Arneis, Nascetta etc - or maybe you want to visit a certain winery.

Barolo and Barbaresco are 20 minutes and 40 minutes away by car and there are many well-known and excellent wineries to choose from for wine tasting and buying. The red wines from the area are based solely on Nebbiolo and some of the most famous vineyards in Piedmont are located here.

To learn more about wines produced in Piedmont, tasting wines from other areas and different types of grapes might also be interesting. Not far from Ferrarotti (in Dogliani), a couple has restored a family owned vineyard where they produce excellent wines from Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Nascetta (local white grape) and Riesling. Their vineyard is located in the hills of Piedmont with a magnificent view. Worth a visit!

An example of a nice afternoon might be: First visit to a winery to taste a selection of their wines, then visit a farm making products of hazelnuts - another large business in Piedmont - and finally dinner at a family-run restaurant in the area. All accessible less than 30 minutes from Ferrarotti by car - or anywhere in the region… If you want a more exclusive dining experience, restaurants with one or more Michelin stars are not far away.

…Or you can go truffle hunting in the forests of Piedmont…

The winter black truffle has season from January to April and the summer black truffle from May to November, while the most valuable white truffle is available from mid-september to end of year. The truffle festival in Alba every weekend in October and November is definitely worth a visit.

The truffle hunters of Piedmont use dogs and not pigs to find the precious fungi. Dogs are easier to train, greater endurance, are very much easier to manage than a big pig and they do not eat truffles as readily... The hunt is organized by trained guides who have their own woodland and can be a separate activity or combined with wine tasting and dining. There are many guides in the area, but truffle hunting is popular and should be organized well in advance. We therefore need to be notified early if this is a current activity.

We have heard there are truffles in the forests around Ferrarotti too…

This is just a few of the alternatives available in the region - so please ask!

We will be happy to organize activities for your group during the stay at Ferrarotti

Below you will find some examples of meeting room setups. This can be adapted to your requirements. The price will depend on how many apartments or rooms you want, the size of the group, duration of the stay and potential activities - so please contact us to discuss. We will then prepare an offer for your evaluation. Both Anne and Geir have experience from working in the board of directors, in management teams and various projects and will be happy to assist in both planning and implementation of the sessions.
